Downtown Chattanooga

Downtown Chattanooga – My normal fishing hole…Over the past day or so I have spent a lot of time in prayer for my witnessing ministry. It would seem that the enemy has filled me with more than my normal dose of fear. But God remains faithful in pulling me through my fears to preach His gospel. Let’s start with James sitting waiting on the bus. I began by using my new intro talking about this blog. Then I asked him about his conscience. “Where does it come from?”, “Do you listen to it?” Please pray for him because I feel like I should have answered his questions better. I guess I should keep following the words of Ray Comfort – “Find yourself a sinner and practice on him!”
I just happen to run into Gloria the Jehovah’s Witness by God’s intervention. She was walking down the street and I approached her with a gospel tract. She had about 50 Watchtower magazines with her and she wasn’t in the mood at all to talk to me. She kept saying that she had to meet some other “sisters” down the street. As she began to walk off I raised my voice to ask her….”Do you believe in the 10 Commandments?” She turned around. “I thought that might get your attention.” I said to myself. So we talked about the Commandments, salvation, and Hell. She made the comment right before walking off – “How could a loving Father condemn His children to Hell?” She wouldn’t let me answer this question she just kept on walking…
The next conversation I had was with Spencer. He told me that he had a Baptist background but hadn’t been to church in a while so I took him through the Law just like everybody else. He was very forthcoming and honest and told me that it did concern him that he deserved God’s justice. When his mouth was stopped I knew that now was the time to magnify the love of God and Christ’s sacrifice. At the end of our conversation I asked Spencer if I had said anything that offended him in anyway. He told me, “No way, man. You just keep being a warrior”. That was very nice of him to say, but the Glory for all the battles goes to God alone. I finished by asking him if he thought it might be a good idea before he laid his head on his pillow tonight to spend some time in prayer with God and make things right. He told me that he sure does. Amen! Who could ask for more!
And finally we will finish our morning with Antonio. I spoke with him for awhile before he admitted to me that he was a Christian. I asked him if he was born again and he said yes. So from there we talked about the importance of God’s word and walking with Him daily.
