This morning as I headed out I noticed that the weather didn’t seem all that cold so I was praying that more people would be out this morning and more willing to talk than in weeks past. God was planning to brighten my day already. My first encounter was with a gentleman by the name of Paul. We stopped and talked on the sidewalk for a while. Paul was a very nice man who stayed and chatted with me for a bit. We went through Law and Grace. Pretty straight forward stuff.
Next was Jeffrey at the bus stop. As I began to take him through the Law he told me that he had never lied, stolen, or lusted. He claimed to have kept all the Commandments. This has happened to me 2 or 3 times now. After our conversation I left him a few tracts and began to walk away. I was about half a block away and heard someone yell “Yo!”, so I turned around to check out who it was. There was another guy yelling for me to come back so I headed back his way.
He told me “I could hear you talking to that man over there and the Holy Spirit kept telling me to talk to you. I love what you were doing over there. We need more people doing what you are doing here”. He explained to me that he was a Christian and that he was in the process of writing a book and wanted to meet with me to go out on a witnessing trip. He opened up his book bag and even showed me all of his Bible study material. We exchanged numbers and I so hope and pray that he will call. This goes to show that no matter who you are talking to others are listening. So let you voice carry!! Praise God for this…
As I was heading back to my car I notice three young gentlemen standing near the bank. I usually try to keep it one-to-one but I felt a pull to talk to these guys. I began with asking them an intro to the conscience and even told them I was willing to give them 10 bucks in they could name the 10 Commandments….but in order. (It’s tough, I know). All 3 of these guys listened to every word I said. They were very receptive to the Gospel and very polite in letting me talk to them. They admitted that they had sinned against God and needed forgiveness. I left them with tracts and pleaded with them to think of my words before they went to sleep tonight. Nice fellas, I hope to see them in Heaven one day.
