My family took a trip to our local Barnes and Nobles bookstore tonight after grabbing a few frappicinos from Star Bucks, of course. As we jumped out of the car I stuffed my back pocket with some million dollar bill tracts. Before we even made it to the front door I noticed a tarot cards set. So I quickly placed a tract right on top of it. Right after we got in I made a bee-line for the religious section. There you will find all types of books on atheism, blasphemous philosophy, witchcraft, new age spiritualism, evolution, and don’t forget about the lukewarm Laodicean "your best life now" Christian books we have nowadays. I was able to use all the tracts that I brought with me into the store. So Christian, the next time you head to the bookstore take some tracts with you and fill those pages with the hope of Jesus Christ. God bless!

I wanted to comment on some of those links you have on the side, but there was no place to comment there, so I thought I'd say something here. I happen to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (the correct name of the church--not Latter-day Saints Church, as it was referred to by someone in one of those links--also not Mormon, which is just a nickname). I am bothered by the incorrect information given in the links which I looked at (I did not look at all of them, but probably 3 or 4), and I felt the need to correct some things so that anyone else reading this might have the opportunity to understand more accurate information regarding the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The name of the church was one of the things I wanted to correct. I also was bothered by the Mormon missionaries being portrayed as so ignorant in the story (possibly made-up or perhaps it was just a misunderstanding the writer had), since I doubt that they would have been THAT speechless about answering such questions. Also, our missionaries are not married when they are sent out, unless they go as an older couple with their spouse. In the early days of the church, that would have been the case, but we have not for very many years (much longer than my lifetime) sent young missionaries out, leaving behind a wife and children. And we don't generally go door to door with a companion just around where we live, as I believe the JW's do (I could be wrong on that, but that is the impression I've gotten is that the JW's just proselyte near their homes), so the writer's claim that they were both married with kids is not accurate. Our missionaries travel to an assigned place to live and be missionaries full-time for usually 18-24 months.
I did appreciate the message given that we need to believe and have faith in Jesus Christ. I believe we are in agreement that that is a necessity, and unfortunately there are too many in the world who are lacking in that area. Thank you for your desire to share with others the Word of God. I would appreciate it, however, if you would not assume that whoever you were linking to knows what we believe or don't believe. Rather, if you want to really know what we believe, go to the source. You can go to mormon.org (an official website for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints) for more information. If I wanted to know what Catholics believed, I would go to the Catholic church or an active member of it, not to a Baptist, for example, and vice versa. I can't possibly tell you everything here, so please go to that website and have others go there, instead of having them read false information about us. I respect others' right to believe differently than I do, but I would hope that they would have accurate and truthful information to base that decision upon.
Good luck in your efforts to spread the message of Jesus Christ. The world certainly needs more true Christians in it. :-)
Thank you for your kind words in your comment. I hope that I can clear up just one or two things real quick. I'm sorry if I incorrectly named the name of your church I guess a lot of people are just use to the generic terms for such a thing. Some of the stories that you read about the Mormon missionaires are from other Christian ministries that I have dealt with. I have taken your advice in the past and contacted LDS missionaries for a Bible study. They did come to my home and both of the young gentlemen were very nice, indeed. But I learned that what the LDS church teaches and what the Bible teaches are truely different. LDS teaches that Jesus is a created being. The Bible teaches that Jesus is co-equal and co-eternal with the Father. The LDS church teaches that the Father was once a man and he became God. The Bible tells us that God has been God for all eternity. The LDS church teaches "infinate regress" - (the Father has a god and that god had a god). The Bible teaches that there is only one God. God says he does not know of any other. If you have any questions please contact me or maybe we could arrange a Bible study over the phone to compare and contrast our views. Thank you,
Ty
Hey. Just found you web site through aic. I am in the tri-cities area (Johnson City). If you ever decide to go up to Knoxville and hand out tracts, let me know if you need someone (or a couple more if my boys, 15 and 11, will go with me) to go with you and hand out tracts. Like you I also am a big fan of WOTM and have shared the gospel with many of my clients. I've also done exactly what you've done in this adventure ... put tracts in the B&N Bookstores. We have put several MLB's behind books and behind magazines. We are planning on walking around neighborhoods and putting door hanger bags stuffed with MLB's and the pink/blue illusion tracts (see the living waters store for these) on peoples door knobs.
Anyways, enjoyed the "adventure". By the way I can be contacted at david_crichton@yahoo.com.
