1. Where did we come from? (As a human race, a species)
2. Why am I here? (What is the purpose of life)
3. How do I live while I am here? (What is the standard to live by)
4. What will happen to you when you die?
Of the 15 people that I brought these questions to only 4 believed in atheistic evolution. One gentleman said that the purpose of life was to “promote the species” and to make sure that “your genetics pass on”. Now that is sad. How can anyone live their lives with no hope? How can anyone say that there is no God? I just don’t get it.
One atheist wouldn’t even take a tract from me. He just answered my questions, waved his hand making sure that I left him alone, and off he went. Another guy just shook his head and told me, “It’s too early for this stuff.”
A few people answered “evolution” to question 1, but when I asked them “What is the purpose of life?” or “How do you know the difference between right and wrong?” they would then change gears and tell me things like “because I believe in God”, “The Bible tells me right from wrong”. Yet they believe we evolved from a rock. If anything this morning helped me realize that our idea of God and the Gospel is so diluted and twisted. We need to continue to reach out in love to others, warn others and teach them the “truth that was delivered once and for all”.
